Celebrating National Public Lands Day, the Mojave Desert Land Trust will host a presentation and panel discussion with young women students who are participating in MDLT’s WISDOM internship program (Women In Science Discovering Our Mojave) in Afton Canyon.

The WISDOM program engages women from underrepresented communities in scientific field studies and environmental conservation research projects in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management. Mary Cook-Rhyne, MDLT Education Coordinator, will moderate the discussion as WISDOM program interns share their experience in fieldwork and data collection mirroring Hope Jahren’s own experiences in Lab Girl.
