Art Adventure – John Frame’s: Mephistopheles and the Swan Girl

Join us for our 5th Adventure tour. On Saturday, January 29 we will visit the Claremont Museum of Art for a private tour of John Frame: Mephistopheles and the Swan Girl with an artist Q & A following.

John Frame is a sculptor, photographer, composer and filmmaker who has been working as an artist since the early 1980s. He has participated in group exhibitions around the world and has had major solo exhibitions at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Long Beach Museum of Art, and the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens. John Frame and his wife Laura are long-time residents of Wrightwood. The WAC tour offers a unique opportunity to talk with one of Wrightwood’s most well-known artists!

Afterwards we will have a scatter lunch in Claremont Village. Lynn Crawford will provide a list of restaurants in the downtown area within walking distance of the museum. The museum address is 200 W. First Street in the Claremont Depot.

We will not be setting up carpools, but instead you will caravan with your friends in pods (people you feel safe with). If you need help with a carpool, please contact Lynn Crawford (contact info below). We will be departing Wrightwood at 9:00 am and will meet in the Community Center parking lot.

Because the museum is in LA County, masks will be required indoors. Vaccines may be required by the time of our trip. We will keep you informed as to the requirements before the tour.

Cost is $20 for WAC members and $25 for non-members. Maximum group size is 30. Reservations must be made by January 22. In case of inclement weather, we will reschedule for a later date.

Each person must fill out and sign the liability release and send form to: Wrightwood Arts Center, PO Box 1196, Wrightwood, CA 92397. If paying by check, please include the check.
