My degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA was pre-computer days and therefore, my Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator skills were all self-taught while working under tight deadlines.
After an abstract drawing class at UCLA extension, I painted an abstract portrait of my mother. It was this pivotal work that began my painting journey. My artwork reveals the inner spirit that lies beneath our surface. In my work, I seek to reinvent our perceptions, initially for myself and eventually for the viewer, who is encouraged to question my work through their intuitive eyes. Brushing colors on my surface is similar to using a tuning fork to tune a piano back to its pure tone. My work focuses on the internal energies of the human race, which longs for true healing in mind, body, and soul. I also teach my healing art method to others.
