This year we were awarded the Artists in Schools Planning Grant, which will be focused in the Victor Elementary School District.

We will be developing a program that will bring artists into the schools for several weeks offering exposure to dance, theatre, music and the visual arts for grades 3 and 4.

In collaboration with The California Arts Project, we will take a three-fold approach to build capacity: within the artist as an educator; within the teacher to integrate arts into the classroom; and within the student to discover their potential as a creative thinker and explorer.

The program provides access to the arts for many students who are currently without it, while serving as an example for integrating arts into the classroom and employing local artists.

We hope to spark interest from other area schools through project outcomes, and lay the foundation for future programming to continue promoting the role of creativity in innovative thinking and learning.
