Auditions for the 1960s-themed musical “Hairspray” are set to take place at 10:30 a.m. May 3 at First Congregational Church, 2 W. Olive Ave.

Call-backs are set for May 10, also at 10:30 a.m.

Auditioners for the musical — which will be performed at 8:15 p.m. July 29 and 31 and Aug. 1 at the Redlands Bowl, 25 Grant St. — are asked to be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars of a memorized song, preferably from a rock-style musical, that best shows off their abilities.

A pianist will be provided to accompany. Auditioners should bring sheet music. There will be no acapella auditions, organizers announced in a press release. Those auditioning are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes for a movement audition.

Paul Jacques will direct.
