The Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art at Cal State San Bernardino continues its tradition of pairing the visual and musical arts with “Ode to a Grecian Urn,” a concert to take place at the museum on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6-8:30 p.m.

The performance accompanies the current museum exhibition, “Greeks in the Boot: Greek Influences in the Italian Peninsula as Reflected in the Pottery of Various Regions, ca. 800-200 B.C.” Funded in part from a Samuel H. Kress Foundation grant, this prestigious exhibition includes 17 ancient Greek vases on loan from the J. Paul Getty Museum, Villa Collection and RAFFMA’s own collection of unique ancient ceramics from various regions of the Italian Peninsula.

Soprano Suzan Hanson, pianist Victoria Kirsch, dancer Amanda Hernandez and art historian and RAFFMA director Eva Kirsch will explore the historical and mythological worlds of Ancient Greece and Rome through opera, art, song, poetry and movement. Featured composers include Johannes Brahms, Claude Debussy, W.A. Mozart, Erik Satie and Richard Strauss.

Spooky Night at RAFFMA

Join us for a fun-filled, family-friendly night at the museum.

Each year, RAFFMA turns down the lights and strings up the cobwebs for an educational evening inspired by the museum’s permanent display of ancient Egyptian art. This Halloween-alternative event consists of a spooky night tour, a museum scavenger hunt, crafts and a costume contest. Guests are strongly encouraged to come dressed in their spookiest attire.
