The Chaffey Community Museum of Art (CCMA) is seeking visual artists interested in exhibiting their artwork in the museum’s Spotlight Gallery for the 2024 exhibit cycle. Annually the museum hosts 7 artists to have a solo exhibition of their work. The Spotlight Gallery can accommodate 10-15 works of art, depending on size. Artworks maybe 2 or 3 dimensional. The exhibition run will be 6 to 7 weeks in length. The exhibition is free for museum Artist Members and $75 for non-members. (Fees collected only after acceptance.) Priority is given to artists who have not exhibited in the Spotlight Gallery in the past 5 years.

As a part of the exhibit the museum will provide:

Installation of artworks by the museum coordinator
Postcards, emails, website and social media advertising for the exhibition
Meet the Artist opportunity (date determined by artist)
Shared Sunday afternoon reception. (Reception will be shared by at least one other gallery space from the museum)

To apply for the Spotlight Gallery, complete an online application form (no paper applications will be accepted), submit a short artist biography and artist statement, and 4 digital images of the art you may be exhibiting. (Photos should be clear and focus on the artwork.) Applications must be submitted by September 30th, 2023. All applications will be reviewed by the museum’s exhibition committee. All artists will be notified of their status by Oct 28th, 2023.

Artists selected for exhibition must be willing to:

Deliver artwork to CCMA, 217 S. Lemon St., Ontario, CA at a specific date and time determined by CCMA.
Sign an artist release form.
Non-members pay exhibit fee of $75
Provide an exhibit title (wall vinyls provided by museum)
Provide an exhibit statement of no more than 200 words describing the purpose of the exhibit for the website, publicity and posting in the gallery. (CCMA reserves the right to edit for clarity and grammar)
Provide an Artist Statement/Bio of no more than 250 words and photo of the artist to be displayed in the gallery. (CCMA reserves the right to edit for clarity and grammar)
Choose a date, during the exhibit run, for a Meet the Artist. The event is usually on a Saturday or Sunday from 1 – 3 pm, where the artist will greet our guests and talk about their work in the gallery.
Following the exhibition, the artist is responsible for picking up artwork within two weeks or it will be deemed abandoned.
