City of Ontario, Curator of Education—Temporary Position

Position Description

Estimated Length of Position: 3 – 4 months (Temporary, Apple One) 
Pay Rate: $26.38/hr (29 hrs/week)
Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. *

Requirements: 

1 – 3 years of relevant Museum experience including, collections management,
exhibition development, and the development of public education programs.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in U.S. or California History, Museum Studies, American Studies, Art History, Anthropology, or closely related field.

Description:

Are you passionate about sharing the mission and goals of a Museum? Where you can utilize your exhibition skills and be a part of an exciting and diverse team?

The Curator of Education will help to develop programs for the Museum’s Built on Water exhibition, scheduled to open to the public in March 2022. The exhibition focuses on the history of water in Ontario and the surrounding region.

The position will work as part of the curatorial team to develop interactive components to the exhibition. The temporary Curator of Education will develop lesson plans for the exhibition and will initiate planning for volunteer docent tours of the exhibition.
