Accepting Submissions for Counter Cultures at Chaffey College's CAA Student Gallery

Written by  Kimberly Johnson

COUNTER CULTURES, an art exhibition featuring a variety of artistic mediums to convey the theme, will open Sept. 8 at Chaffey College's CAA Student Gallery. The show will revolve around art and actions that have effected and altered society through defiance.

We're on the hunt for a few more pieces to supplement the show. Some of the topics we'd like to examine are graffiti, skateboarding, social activism and advocacy, illicit activities, LGBT culture, feminism, hardcore music culture, prison/inmate culture, narcotic culture, varying ethnic traditions and cultures-- any and everything that deters from traditional, standardized or arguably acceptable American societal norms. Let your imagination run wild.

This art show is in celebration of The Chaffey Review Vol. 12, Chaffey College's award winning literary and art journal. Submissions for the journal will be open through Oct. 15. The theme for the journal is COUNTER CULTURES as well. We have every intention of taking the theme to its full potential, so we'd love to receive your art and/or writing that displays/discusses counter cultural activities, thoughts, ideas and experiences.

Please send all literary journal submissions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
