THE SBCMA INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POSITION OF SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Classification: Nonexempt.

Part-time.

Salary: $15-18 per hour

Reports to: Executive Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary: Provides administrative assistance to the Executive Director and the non-profit Association that supports the San Bernardino County Museum. In addition to web-based bookkeeping, the Sr. AA assists with additional duties such as event planning, monitoring grant activity, providing status reports, coordinating projects, and working on special assignments. Schedules and organizes activities such as meetings, travel, events and activities. Synchronizes various forms of information and documentation. Works independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects. Coordinates division of workload with the administrative assistant.

Competencies: QuickBooks or/and general bookkeeping. Mac computers. Flexibility. Collaboration. Microsoft Word and Excel. General office and organizational capacities. Strong writing and speaking skills.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: Operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift files, open cabinets, work with Administrative Assistant to set up and transport event materials, carry/remove materials to/from storage facilities, and bend or stand as necessary during event management.

Hours of Work: Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30PM to 4PM. Weekend and evening work will be required to support Museum events.

Work Site: 2024 Orange Tree Lane, Redlands Travel Travel throughout the County may be required occasionally, as authorized by the Executive Director.

Required Education and Experience: Associate’s degree or bookkeeping certificate from an accredited institution. Two years of administrative experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree 1 year of QuickBooks or bookkeeping and grant oversight experience.
