Come learn from a few leaders navigating this terrain and about some of the skills you never thought you needed to have as an artist to do this work.
Facilitators: Andrew Thompson, Founder of The Little Gallery of San Bernardino, Daniel Gohman, Founder of The Artlands, Cynthina Huerta, Co-Founder of Inland Mujeres.
Workshop support from John Machado, CEO/President of The Arts Area.
Art, Media and Driving Social Movements

This community action-oriented workshop will include a printing lab, supported by Duan Kellum.
Arts Education in Schools
This is an exciting time in California’s arts education history! Want to know what is emerging in arts education within our schools and districts? Come and gain information on the current and emerging California and San Bernardino County arts education landscape from our statewide and regional experts of The California Arts Project and RIMS California Arts Project —the state subject matter project for the arts.
This workshop will introduce you to the new California Arts Standards, update you on the emerging new Arts Framework, and inform you of what these changes mean for our students and teachers. You’ll get a peek into arts classrooms in which teachers are implementing these new directions. Learn of local and statewide resources that can provide support to your schools and districts and how you can become involved. There will be time for questions and conversation leading to the creation of an individual action step you can take to support equity and access for all our students to an arts education!
Facilitators: Kris Alexander, Executive Director, The California Arts Project
Armalyn De La O, Regional Director, RIMS California Arts Project, CSUSB
