Auditions

 

Auditions for Our Town will be held at Redlands Footlighters 11/26 & 27 at 7 PM.

Redlands Footlighters Theatre

1810 Barton Rd, Redlands, California 92373

If you are unable to make either night you may message me for an appointment. Rehearsals start 12/3 through 12/20, then break until 1/02/2019 for the holidays. Performances start i/26/2019 and run on weekends through 2/24/2019. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. If you are unfamiliar with the show, there is an excellent film of the Lincoln Center production with Spaulding Gray as the Stage Manager.

Cast of Characters:
Stage Manager (age and gender open) The host of the play and dramatic equivalent of an omniscient narrator. The driving force behind the action.
George Gibbs (20s to play from teen to 30s.) A decent, upstanding young man.
Emily Webb ( 20s to play from teen to 30s).George’s next door neighbor, then fiancé, then wife.
Dr. Gibbs (plays 30s-40s) The town doctor and Civil War expert.
Mrs. Gibbs (plays 30s-40s) George’s mother.
Mr. Webb (plays 30s-40s) Emily’s father and publisher and editor of The Grover’s Corners Sentinel.
Mrs. Webb( plays 30s-40s) Emily’s mother. Seems no-nonsense at first.
Mrs. Soames (age open) A gossip
Simon Stimson (age open) The choirmaster, an alcoholic and tragic figure.
Rebecca Gibbs (12-14) George’s younger sister.
Wally Webb (12-14) Emily’s younger brother.
Howie Newsome (age open) The milkman.
Joe Crowell, Jr.( teen) The paperboy
Si Crowel (teen) Joe’s younger brother
Professor Willard (age open) a professor at the state university.
Constable Warren (age open) A local policeman
Sam Craig (age open) Emily’s cousin.
Joe Stoddard (age open) The town undertaker.

Auditions for Sleeping Beauty will be held on May 7th and May 14th, 2016, beginning at 9:00 AM ending at 1:00 PM. Callback will be May 21st. 

J.U. auditions are held at Perris Hill Bowl, 1001 East Highland Avenue, behind the tennis courts in Perris Hill Park. Auditioners must be at least 9 years old, bring sheet music, and come prepared to perform a short vocal audition (16 bars). An accompanist will be provided.

Auditions for Sleeping Beauty will be held on May 7th and May 14th, 2016, beginning at 9:00 AM ending at 1:00 PM. Callback will be May 21st.

Auditions will take place on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Watchorn Hall at the University of Redlands. The competition is open to both vocalists and instrumentalists. The preliminary auditions (closed to the public) start at 1:00 p.m. and the Final Round (open to the public) starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Redlands Bowl Young Artists Auditions were established in 1952 by Carolyn S. Pike to encourage young talent and help progress the careers of emerging classical musicians. The winners of the audition each receive a scholarship: $500 for juniors and $1,000 for seniors. The winners also perform in a concert as a part of the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival. Each year the Associates of Redlands Bowl provide the scholarships awarded to the winners.

Auditions for “It’s A Wonderful Life!”

Auditions for “It’s A Wonderful Life!” will take place on Thursday, October 2 from 6:00pm through 9:00pm at the LifeHouse Theater.

Auditioning at LifeHouse 

Theater Auditions will be held on a first come-first served basis. All are welcome and roles are open for men and women. Men are especially encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should be at least 10 years of age and bring a theatrical resume and a recent photo to leave with the audition panel. Those without a photo may have a Polaroid picture taken at the auditions for a $2 fee.

Auditioners should also bring their own sheet music in the preferred key, and be prepared to sing a short selection of about 16 measures. A pianist will be provided but will not be able to transpose any sheet music. Auditions with CDs will not be accepted. Those without sheet music will be asked to sing “Happy Birthday” with the accompanist.

*For dramas, please prepare a dramatic monologue no more than one minute in length.

This hilarious musical revue celebrates the pitfalls of dating and the conundrum known as “the relationship”. The joy and dread of newborns, in-laws, family car trips, and geriatric pick-up techniques are just some of these every day adventures that everyone can relate to.

What does a mother do when she suspects her child is nothing like the sweet, well-mannered little girl everyone else sees? In this thriller, disaster suddenly strikes one of Rhoda’s classmates and her mother cannot help wondering if her daughter may not be so innocent after all.

The Deputy Mayor of New York has just shot himself, right before his anniversary party. His lawyer and his lawyer’s wife arrive first and try to conceal the truth as the other guests arrive. Confusion and mis-communications lead to an evening of farcical hilarity in this audience favorite!

Seeking male and female dancers for the 2014 Nutcracker season with potential for additional work.

Positions available for men and women.

Principal, Soloist, Demi Soloist, Corps de ballet and Apprentice contracts available.

(Women 5'2"-­‐5'9". Must be strong on pointe.) 

The Gestalt Theatre Project is casting for its production of Martin McDonagh’s “The Pillowman,” directed by Patrick Brien, which will run at The Box in downtown Riverside’s Fox Entertainment Plaza from October 31 – November 2, 2014. Rehearsals begin in September 2014. Seeking the following:

Katurian – The writer. Late 20s – 30s.

Michal – The brother. Developmentally disabled through years of childhood torture. Late 20s – 30s.

Tupolski – The lead detective. Representative of a totalitarian government. 30s – 50s.

Ariel – The “bad cop.” Rough. Edgy. 30s – 50s.

Father – Multiple father roles played in tableau sequences. 30s – 50s.

Auditions will be held at The Box, located on the second floor of the Fox Entertainment Plaza, on July 28 at 6:30 p.m. Be prepared to read from the script.
