Unintended Consequences -
Embrace the Unexpected
Women Painters West
This exhibit is about the act of living and the flexibility needed to build, grow and overcome challenges. Art making is a process of creating and reacting to the work as if it is in process. In this exhibit, by artists from Women Painters West, the result is the consequence. Through November 5, 2017
CCMA Annual Member Exhibition
In this exhibit we honor CCMA's artist members and their ability to express their artistic talents in beautiful works of art, using a multitude of media and styles. From the exhibit, CCMA will purchase works of art for the museum collection.
This year's purchase prize is sponsored by Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario. Bellevue was founded in 1892 and is the final resting place for many of Ontario's most distinguished residents, including CCMA's founders Francis and Helen Line and their daughter Barbara.
Curated by Cindy Rinne
Capricious Mischief is a group exhibit of fiber artists who bring the spirit of play. The audience may meet the fox, rabbit, a deer goddess and other characters of folklore. A variety of textile arts include weaving, quilting, embroidery and tapestry, and sculpture, among others. Through December 3, 2017.
Closing November 12
From the artist:
This body of work represents the people, places and events that have left memorable impressions on my life. The textural, organic qualities make encaustic the perfect medium in which to combine the images and artifacts used to communicate visually this extraordinary journey. Through November 12, 2017.
Opening November 16
From the artist:
I photograph sites altered by people. On a whole, PHOTO-XING is a selection of pictures depicting in situ subjects marked-up and/or rearranged. The common denominator is that the images are of sites created by the human hand. Some imagery depicts sites that seem curated, while others show altered sites that were not consciously organized. Through January 14, 2017.
Men of the Museum
The men depicted in these selections of portraits from the museum's collection range in age, ethnicity, style and media. Yet all are vibrant representations of what defines the Men of the Museum. Artists represented in the exhibit include Anders Gustave Aldrin, Rashid Arshed, Herman Cherry, Francis de Erdley, Robert George, Nuissia Grod, Emil Kosa, Jr., Carlos Licon, Robert Smith and John August Swanson. Through January 21, 2018.

Give BIG 2017 returns November 28
Give BIG is the annual 24-hour telethon fundraiser for San Bernardino County non profits. CCMA is participating in Give BIG for the 4th consecutive year.
Goal is to raise $4500 needed to build a museum-standard storage system for CCMA's collection. The current storage system is at capacity and is not made of archival materials.
CCMA board member and architect John Melcher, assisted by retired museum curator Steve Thomas and CCMA Trustees chair Brook Brunzell, have formulated plans for a system that meets museum standards for art storage. The $4500 will cover cost of materials and construction and contains capacity as CCMA's collection increases.
Participating in Give BIG is simple: we'll send you a link to CCMA's donation page prior to November 28. Click on the link, then donate toward the goal. You'll receive a confirmation of your donation immediately, and a thank you note from CCMA later telling the results of the campaign..
Give BIG lasts only 24 hours -- from 7 am November 28 to 7 am November 29. Please help CCMA meet its goal of $4500 and contribute to the much-needed storage system.
If you prefer to donate directly or prior to November 28, contact Museum Coordinator Jenelle Lowry at 909-463-3733
