Miriam Nieto, Board Member

Miriam Nieto, 30 years old is a resident of San Bernardino. Growing up in Los Angeles she moved to the Inland Empire in 2007. She moved to riverside to attend school at Riverside Community College, she later transferred to the University of Riverside, graduating in 2011 with a BA in Political Science International Affairs and a BA in History in Latin America. In 2015 she moved back to San Bernardino where she currently resides.

Since her childhood, she has always been a part of organizations that work within her community, while in Los Angeles she worked and organized with Mar Vista Family Center, and while living in the Inland Empire she’s had the privilege to work with many great orgs such as; 4E’s, CHICCCA, and Warehouse Workers United. Currently she serves on the board of San Bernardino Generation Now, The League of Women Voters and Arts Connection - The Art Council of San Bernardino County.
 
Aside from organizing she works as therapist for kids with special needs. She has great passion for working with diverse communities. She believes that without the arts, culture and the right policies a city will not be successful. Her goal is to be an advocate for San Bernardino’s renaissance, and play a role in San Bernardino’s revitalization.
